What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as your browser's localStorage and a service worker cache, let a site keep small amounts of data on your device too. ShipSync itself does not set any cookies; it uses localStorage and a service worker cache, described below.

No Analytics or Advertising

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not let advertisers track you on ShipSync.

Essential Storage

These are needed for ShipSync to work:

• Sign-in session: Supabase Auth keeps your sign-in session in localStorage so you stay signed in. Clearing it signs you out.
• Sign-in attempt limit (shipsync_login_attempts): Counts recent failed sign-in attempts on this device to slow down password guessing. It expires after 15 minutes.

Preferences

These remember choices you make in the app:

• Theme (shipsync-theme): Light or dark mode
• Collection view (shipsync-inv-view): Whether your collection is shown as a list or a grid
• Value chart (shipsync-vh-open): Whether the collection value chart is open or closed

Your other settings are saved to your account, not your browser.

Third-Party Services

• Sentry: Our error-monitoring tool may keep a short-lived session ID in your browser's sessionStorage so an error can be linked to the replay of that session. It is cleared when you close the tab.
• Stripe: When you upgrade or manage billing, you are taken to Stripe's own checkout and billing pages, where Stripe may set its own cookies under its privacy policy.
• Google, Discord and eBay: If you sign in with Google or Discord, or connect eBay, you sign in on their own pages, which may set their own cookies.

Service Worker and Caching

ShipSync uses a service worker so the app loads faster and can open when you're offline. It caches the app's own files (HTML pages, CSS, JavaScript and images). It does not cache your collection or account data, and requests to our database always go to the network.

No Cookie Notice

Because ShipSync does not set cookies of its own and stores only what the app needs to work, we don't show a cookie notice.

Affiliate Links

Some links to eBay (and, in the future, TCGplayer) are affiliate links. When you follow one, you leave ShipSync, and the retailer may set its own cookies on its site so that ShipSync can be credited with a commission if you buy something.

Your Choices

You can view and clear localStorage, sessionStorage, cookies and cached files in your browser's settings for this site. Clearing them signs you out and resets your preferences, but does not delete your account or anything saved to it.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
